Beginning to blog? Wondering how to get more readers to read your blog? There are numerous ways you can build traffic on your blog and get more people to read it. You can use several online applications to increase the views on your blog. Social Networking sites are one of the best tools to increase the traffic on your blog. In this era of Tweeting and Facebooking, spreading a word about your blog has become as compared to the earlier times when there were no such mediums available. By using these mediums extensively, more people will come through and visit your blog.

A blog takes some time to get readers initially. Many bloggers stop blogging after the initial discouragement of no users. Do not stop blogging due to lack of response initially. Instead of getting discouraged because of not getting comments on your blog, you can use Social Networking to popularise your blog posts. Tell your friends about what you have written, share the link of the articles online on your wall, and ask your friends and family to leave a comment or two. This way, all the people in your online network shall get aware of the blog and thus the visibility of the blogs shall also increase substantially.

You can also add your blog friends to your list on Social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut and Twitter. This way, you can come to know about the lives and instant updates about the fellow bloggers. With the invention of sites like Facebook, Twitter and Orkut, you can keep yourself updated in the Blogosphere. This is one of the best ways to build your visibility among so many people. Take full advantage of these Social Networking sites and you are bound to get noticed. But remember, this doesn’t happen overnight, so you must be patient. The response and building up takes time.

Several online communities or groups also have active forums where you can share your latest blog posts. The response on these sites is good, and thus this one of the smartest way to increase the readership on your blog. One of the easiest things you can do is sharing the link of your blog in your profile information. This way, all the people added in your friend list on all the Social Networking sites can see what latest has been posted and updated by you. Google mail status messages are also one of the major ways to popularise your blog. Similarly, scrap the link of your blog to all your friends on Orkut. In the same way, you can keep the link of your blog as the signature at the end of your mail body. With this, all the recipients of your mail shall know about your blog.

To conclude, Blogging is good. It is really good. But for your blogging to be successful you must be very calm and patient as this whole process is slow. But believe you me, this is very effective also.

Microsoft and Windows always go hand in hand. And when we take their name together, the words like trust, faith, loyalty etc. always come to our minds. Such is their goodwill than they both have created over these years, individually and collectively. Microsoft Window’s Live have an entire range of services to offer to its users. And one of its major services and most loved services include Windows Favourite Live. It offers services just a social bookmarking website would do.

With Windows Live Favorites you can access your favourite bookmarks from any computer. However, not more than thousand favourites and folders are allowed for one single user account. Did I say account? Yes, you need to register yourself first and then before you get down to your bookmarking business, just make sure that you have logged into it.

Accessing your bookmarks from any computer in the world is one thing. With Windows Live Favorites you can also edit then from wherever you wish to. Further more features that are provided by Windows Live Favorites are also very simple and extremely easy to use.

Like most other social bookmarks, you can export or import your favourite bookmarks from different browsers such as Internet Explorer and MSN Explorer. The ways in which you can add more favorites to your list are also extremely user friendly. You can choose from the options such as dragging and a dropping your bookmark to your list of the favorites, or you can simply do this job by a single click on the ‘Add Favorite’ button. Furthermore, you can also simply use the right-click button and choose from its menu the option of ‘Add to Windows Live Favorites ’. And last but not the least, you can also click the Add option from the Add menu at the top of the page.

The most used features, apart from that of adding bookmarks to your list of favorites, include features such as previewing the favorite web pages from within Windows Live Favorites using the In-Line preview option; a simple right-click in order to edit the properties of your favorites; quickly finding favorites using names, address, folders or tags or better known as the Real-time search etc.

And it’s not all…Windows Live Favorites can be easily integrated with a number of other services offered by Microsoft Window’s Live. Some of these are:

Windows Live Toolbar- to synchronise their favorites between Internet Explorer and Windows Live Favorites.

Windows Live Spaces- to share your favorite bookmarks with public and search other’s bookmarks using built-in search box.

Windows Live Messenger- to manage your favorites directly from the program itself. Real-time search is possible using this.

Live.com- to view the top favorites, to search favorites, to add new links to favorites, to view top favorites organized by tags or folders.

With Microsoft Windows you can expect new things and new features. They are constantly working in order to give you something more each time. So do more with it. And trust me, things shall only get better. Try it once. You might fall in love with it.

When Blogging Bug Bites You

June 29th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Weblog | Posted by Ricky

What’s happening to blog really baffles me. It is just about everywhere you go? High-society parties, conferences, friends, bakery shop…everywhere, and everyone’s doing it. Why? The not so net savvy guyz do it because they need an interface to express their thoughts and believe that they have something substantial to share with the world. Techies do it because they feel they can at some point make money out of it, and many like me do it because of the above reasons and to keep the website dynamic, and of course have people counter-commenting!

There are basically three kinds of blogs:

An Individual’s blog

This is a hobbyists blog, generally belonging to those who feel that they could be writers but entered the wrong profession, or those thoughtful souls who have something intellectual simulating to share with the world.

A Theme-based Blog

This kind of blog is more of a professional website which wants to make money and attracts regular traffic. A theme-based blog can be on technology like mobiles, laptop, software, hardware or any other subject like movies, travel, restaurants, books, etc. Credibility really matters a lot here as that would attract repeat traffic to these blogs.

Corporate Blogging

Ah! How much have we heard of them, and how much we like to speak in favor and against this. When a CEO writes a blog in the company blog, it makes company headlines. Corporate blogging is a new age phenomenon that has caught with the industry pretty well. This also promises more traffic to the website, and of course helps in branding!

There may be a few categories, but broadly these three occur to my mind.
